General information

Classes are held throughout the year from 15:15 to 21:45 on weekdays, from 13:00 to 19:30 on Saturdays, and from 13:00 to 17:15 on Sundays, except during:

During the summer term, classes are held Monday to Thursday, from 15:00 to 22:00.

For this purpose, five large, fully equipped studios (A, B, C, D and E) operate simultaneously.

Each class lasts two hours and takes place once a week. Every student has the opportunity to choose the classes that best suit them, selecting as many classes as they wish, according to their available time, needs and preferences.

Just as students have the freedom to choose their teacher, teachers also have the right to determine the conditions for participation in their class. Thus, some classes may be open to everyone, while others may require a basic level of stage experience, and so on.

There is no fixed duration of study (see Diploma).

ACTION GROUPS

We strongly encourage students to participate in the Action Groups they create themselves. Participation in these groups is taken very seriously into consideration when awarding the Diploma and the scholarships offered by the school.

TRIAL CLASS

All interested students are entitled to attend a trial class in any course once during each term, with the aim of becoming familiar with the course and its working methods.

We strongly encourage everyone to choose their classes through this process.

A trial class costs €10 for two hours. This option is available only to students who have already enrolled at the school.

EXTRA CLASS

Extra classes are available only for certain courses and cost €30 for a two-hour class.

DIPLOMA

In order to obtain the Theatre of Changes Diploma in Acting, a student must:

(a) have completed 60 different modules. Each module consists of 12 two-hour classes and lasts for one term. The 60 modules must include:

24 Acting modules
12 Voice modules
12 Movement modules
12 modules of free choice

(b) have obtained the First Certification, and

(c) have successfully completed the final examinations.

Directing

In order to obtain the Theatre of Changes Diploma in Directing, a student must:

(a) have completed 60 different modules. Each module consists of 12 two-hour classes and lasts for one term. The 60 modules must include:

36 modules in Acting, Acting & Directing, Technique and Improvisation
4 Voice modules
4 Movement modules
6 Theoretical modules
10 modules of free choice

(b) have obtained the First Certification, and

(c) have successfully completed the final examinations.

CLASS ASSISTANTS

In every class, one student serves as a Class Assistant. The Class Assistant does not pay for the class and, in return, provides the teacher with certain practical assistance during the lesson, such as taking attendance, operating the sound system, handling video equipment, etc.

For the smooth operation of the school, some students may also be offered part-time responsibilities as Assistants, in exchange for one or more modules free of charge.

In order to become a Class Assistant or Assistant for two modules, a student must first have enrolled in at least one class.

When selecting Class Assistants and Assistants, particular consideration is given to participation in the Action Groups, in events organised as part of the “Children of Changes” group, and in the teaching of Greek.

ATTENDANCE

At the end of each term, all students may, if they wish, receive a certificate confirming their attendance in the classes they selected.

Students are entitled to this certificate provided that they have attended at least 8 classes in each module. Each absence corresponds to one two-hour class.

Attendance is recorded at the beginning of each class and confirmed at the end.

Students who arrive late may enter the class, provided that the teacher allows them to do so. However, arriving late does not cancel the absence recorded for that class.

The same applies to students who leave before the scheduled end of the class.

SCHOLARSHIPS

The "Andreas Voutsinas" Scholarship was established in the summer of 2010 and is awarded each year to one student, who is then entitled to attend all 60 modules required to complete their studies completely free of charge.

The "Vangelis Giakoumakis" Scholarship was established in 2015 and is awarded each term to one student who has achieved outstanding results during the previous term.

The "Kostas Matsakas" Scholarship was established in 2024 and is awarded each term to one student who has achieved outstanding results during the previous term.

The school also offers four free modules each term to four students.

The selection criteria include consistency, hard work, character, discipline and participation in the Action Groups, in the Children of Changes events and in the teaching of Greek.

Every year, the ToC also offers a postgraduate scholarship at a school abroad to one student who has achieved outstanding results in the final examinations.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS

All teachers at the school are professional actors, directors, dancers, etc. They make their living through their professional work rather than through teaching, which is essentially a contribution they make to our students, allowing us to keep tuition fees at a low level (€10 per hour).

The management of the Theatre of Changes arranges for a substitute teacher whenever a teacher is unable to attend a class because of professional commitments.

We make every effort to keep such substitutions to a minimum, but on occasion they are unavoidable.

CAREER DAYS

Throughout the academic year, at regular intervals, we organise auditions and casting sessions with directors and casting directors for theatre, film and television productions.

Participation in these auditions is exclusively available to our students.

In this way, our students have direct access to the professional market.


ESTABLISHED BENEFITS & SPECIAL OFFERS

1. Enrolment before the start of the term

The programme for each term is announced two weeks before the beginning of the term.

During the first week after the programme is announced, students may enrol in classes without formally enrolling in the school.

This temporary exemption from school enrolment applies only to that particular term.

2. 2+1 Offer

One week before the beginning of each term, the 2+1 offer is announced.

Students may enrol in three modules while paying for only two.

The offer is valid throughout the week preceding the beginning of the term, subject to availability.

Each module may be obtained only once through this offer, and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

3. Discount Week

The first week of each term is Discount Week, during which discounts are available on all classes.

4. 1+1 Offer

During the second week of each term, the 1+1 offer is announced.

Students may enrol in two modules while paying for only one.

The offer is valid throughout the second week of the term, subject to the availability of modules.

Each module may be obtained only once through this offer, and places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The offer is available both to existing students who wish to attend additional modules and to new students who wish to begin their studies during the second week.

(Formally, enrolment at the school remains open throughout the term.)

5. Free Trial Classes

During the third week of each term, every new student who enrols at the school becomes entitled to attend free trial classes in all courses.


When a student enrols in one module, they may enrol in two additional modules free of charge as an Assistant.

If a student enrols during the fourth week of the term, they pay €180 per module for the remainder of the term. This amount may be paid in three instalments of €60 each.

This is the last opportunity to enrol in classes and still be entitled to receive a certificate of attendance.

Please note: students must not arrive late to any class, as a late arrival is recorded as a full absence.

From the fifth week onwards, students may enrol in any module by paying the remaining tuition fee either in full or in two instalments (or in one instalment only if they enrol during the final month of the term).

However, students enrolling from the fifth week onwards are not entitled to receive a certificate of attendance for the module.


The management of the Theatre of Changes reserves the right to dismiss, without compensation or further notice, any student whose behaviour is considered to interfere with the smooth operation of the classes or the school as a whole.
