We are a mother and son teaching duo from the Netherlands. Both with an official degree in Teaching Theatre, Theatre Making and in Teaching Film.
We have years of experience in various aspects of the theatre field. Currently we work for education departments of International Theatre Amsterdam (ITA) and The National Theatre in The Hague (Het Nationaal Theater). Also various projects at Improbattle. Besides that, we both have a permanent teaching position at secondary schools (in Haarlem).
We have our own professional working field and expertise, but we really love coming together and merge our strengths. The combination of our two personalities is something everybody always loves!
Slap it yourself! Slapstick, the workshop
In this workshop we’ll dive into the artform of physical comedy, throughout one of its most famous forms: slapstick. Get familiar with different aspects of timing, physical acting, building tension, stage fighting, humor and storytelling.
This will be an active workshop, whereas the first part will be focused on learning the different tools you need to create a slapstick, and the second part will be about the actual creation of the storyline. Prepare yourself for hard work, multiple presentations and loud laughter!
