John Freeman, United Kingdom 2021

John Freeman teaches Theatre at the University of Huddersfield (ranked in the top 30 performing arts departments worldwide) and is adjunct professor of theatre at the University of Notre Dame Western Australia. He has written extensively on actor training in a series of books and articles.

Realism Reimagined

Approaching acting as something authentic and visceral, this workshop invites participants to draw on autobiographical events to create a monologue. The workshop offers the real into realism in pursuit of autobiography into fiction, and as a means of exploring possibilities for realism reimagined for contemporary and non-naturalistic contexts.
