Viewpoints Movement Training
Workshop Description: This Viewpoints Actor Training workshop invites participants into a rigorous and playful exploration of movement as a tool for composition and ensemble building. Using guided improvisation, we will deconstruct and reconstruct movement, examining how the body exists and communicates in time and space.
Participants will investigate core Viewpoints principles including tempo, duration, kinesthetic response, repetition, spatial relationships, topography, architecture, shape, and gesture. Through structured exercises, we will cultivate heightened self awareness, deep ensemble listening, and impulse responsiveness.
Emphasis will be placed on developing physical expressiveness, clarity of choice, and the ability to compose dynamically in the moment. This workshop supports performers, directors, and creators seeking to expand their movement vocabulary, strengthen group cohesion, and generate organic, ensemble-driven performance rooted in presence, precision, and play.
