Tobias Specker/Maartje van Amersfoort, The Netherlands 2026

                   
 
Tobias Specker (32), finished his Theatre Teacher Bachelor at ArtEZ School of the Arts (Arnhem), and after did the master ‘Film Teacher’ at the Breitner Arts Acadamy (Amsterdam). Also he has a background in Theatre Studies ad the University of Amsterdam.
As of right now, he teaches didactics at the Bachelor Theatre Teacher at ArtEZ School of the Arts (Zwolle) as well as working together with Maartje van Amersfoort at the Lyceum Sancta Maria (a highschool in Haarlem) where students can choose theatre as part of their final exams. He develops class material and guides the process of theatre making for the exam students.
He developed multiple educational workshops for theatre compagnies all over the country, such as The National Theatre in The Hague and International Theatre Amsterdam, just like Maartje van Amersfoort.
 
Maartje van Amersfoort (62), has been a theatre teacher for more than 30 years. She also became a film teacher recently by doing the Master ‘Film Teacher’ at Breitner Acadamy for the Arts (Amsterdam).
She currently teaches didactics at the Bachelor ‘Theatre Teacher’ at the Amsterdam Arts Acadamy, as well as working together with Tobias Specker at the Lyceum Sancta Maria (a highschool in Haarlem) where she also supervises multiple plays by students. Besides she’s is an important staff member of Improbattle, a company very well known in the Netherlands. They use the power of theatre to work with troubled youth, police members, refugees and so on. They specialize on how to use theatre to mend social contacts (between police officers and the youth for example) or how to use theatre to enhance your chances in life. She is head of the coaching department, training new teachers/trainers to work through the methods of Improbattle.

 
 Viewpoints of the Mind.
 
In this workshop you enhance your understanding of using space during acting, the meaning attached to it, and how you can use it to empower your message.
Apart from that you will be challenged to add multiple layers in your realistic acting. Through our own created method, you will get all the tools you need. It is guaranteed that after this workshop you are able to use these tools, both in improvisation as well as scripted scenes.
 
It will be an active workshop, with a theoretical foundation. As a participant you will be able to act yourself, testing the method and making it your own. Besides that, you also become an observant, an active audience, seeing the other participants using the method. Here you learn how to reflect and analyze in order to help them and yourself forward.
 
The workshop is challenging for actors of all levels of skill; our created method allows you to apply it conform your own abilities in acting. First half will be practicing and understanding the method, whereas the second half will be filled with presentations; feedback on the spot, and trying again.
