Idit Herman is a creator, director and designer. Currently living in the in Tel Aviv.

Idit began creating in collaboration with Dmitry Tyulpanov in 1994.

The two established Clipa Theater in Tel - Aviv in 1995.  Their partnership led to the emergence of a unique theatrical language, interweaving the arts of theatre, dance, design and music, that placed Clipa as the leading alternative theatre group in Israel.

Idit directs and designs all the group's pieces.
The theatrical style, which has grown over the years to become synonymous with the group, is characterized by a totality encompassing each and every element of the performance. It entails absolute knowledge and command of all the elements of creation: movement, space, costume, set, sound and voice, lighting and direction. In the group's work, these components are fundamental tools of expression alongside the performer's action on stage.  Almost entirely wordless, Clipa's theatrical language investigates universal symbols of movement and image, found at the root of all cultures.

Clipa creates 2 – 4 new stage works and projects each year.
Idit Herman has created over 50 original productions in Israel and abroad, varying from solo performance to large scale immersive work in theatres, museums, public space and more. Her recent work shows a conscious shift from using an exaggeration of set, props, costumes, light and sound to obtain total control of the audience experience, towards creating mobile and minimalist concepts that result in a maximum effect for the often-participating viewer.
